Arts journalist and filmmaker Verity Healey speaks with members of the Belarus Free Theatre to discuss how making art in exile has prepared them for making theater during a pandemic.
This episode of Let Me Ascertain You is the third and final recording of the 2019 Lobby Projects, created by The Civilians in Residence with New York City Center. The Lobby Project is a series of pre-performance events featuring a musical theater performance based around the themes of each Encores! Off-Center production.
OH, THIS IS SUCCESS! was created using The Civilians’ signature investigative approach, utilizing interviews with community members from all over New York City with a variety of life experiences. The project centers themes of familial expectation, responsibility, legacy, conceptions of success and failure, and how those definitions change over time.
