Five souls find fellowship in giving their time to a weekly volunteer shift, making sandwiches for a local food bank. They work hard, sing, laugh, and share stories of what brought them to this service. This weekly time together is their church and sanctuary until the day a stranger enters. What happens when Hunger comes to visit?

fellowship, the eighth play in Cornerstone’s Hunger Cycle, is an immersive experience that puts you in the role of volunteer. Instead of a formal theater setting, our production of “Sweeney Todd” is set inside a 360-degree replica environment of Harrington’s. Seats are pub-style banquettes with cushioned seats and wooden backs. All seats are at counters or tables, except for a few in the Downstairs section of the shop.”

Our shop’s pie maker is former White House pastry chef Bill Yosses. When selecting and purchasing seats, you have the option to buy tickets that include pie and mash cooked fresh daily by Bill. For an additional $20.00 on top of the price of your ticket, you will get one pie (meat or veg.), a generous helping of mashed potato with an optional parsley sauce known as “liquor,” and a beer, glass of wine or other non-alcoholic drink.

We will continue this pre-show tradition with our guests at the Barrow Street Theatre and we’re delighted that former White House pastry chef Bill Yosses has taken on the role as our official pie maker.

INVESTIGATIVE

“Trans Scripts”

Drawn from dozens of interviews conducted around the world, Trans Scripts uses the real words of women to shed light on the rich and diverse experiences within the transgender community. The show’s seven characters range in age and life experience, from an African-American and Latina trans woman in her late 20s who transitioned at 17, to a British gynecologist in her 70s who transitioned to a woman at 68 and Jo Bonney (Father Comes Home From the Wars (Parts 1, 2 & 3)) directs a cast of seven in the US premiere of this moving, humorous, and timely work that received a Fringe First Award for new writing at the 2015 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
