Announcing the New Curated Series

With the new year, Extended Play is excited to share its new article series, Curated, which will feature recommendations from The Civilians staff for performances, talks, books, articles, and more.

Happy New Year! As we begin 2022, we are excited to announce our new article series, Curated. Inspired by round-up articles we did years ago, we will be running monthly editions of the series featuring The Civilians staff’s latest recommendations of performances, documentaries, books, articles, podcasts, artist talks, and more.

At the core of investigative theater and its artists is an unrelenting curiosity about the world, to understand and learn more – a quality a number of our Associate Artists have pointed to as a characteristic. That same curiosity connects its audience members and we have developed this series to feed that active social engagement by sharing stories, highlighting issues, and sparking conversations amongst ourselves and our readers. This series offers a space for readers to learn about new issues and new perspectives, catalyzing personal investigations; with so much worth giving attention to, this series offers us a space to acknowledge and share in even more conversations beyond our longer editorials.

In addition to our recommendations, we will also be including “The Wish List,” a highlight of investigative theater performances happening globally that have caught our eye, but are sadly too far away for us to attend. Hopefully, for our readers from around the world, you will have a chance to check out these intriguing shows.

We hope you enjoy and learn from this series. Keep an eye out for the first edition which will be published at the end of this month.
