If I Forget Thee, O Earth: afterimages

Step into the spacey desert world of Next Forever resident Kate Douglas's play-in-progress IF I FORGET THEE, O EARTH through an artist created mood board.

A note from playwright Kate Douglas:

While writing a play, an atmospheric mood board helps me sink more deeply into the world that I’m building. These images are an exploration of color, texture, architecture, and character for my play If I Forget Thee, O Earth. The piece takes place in an environmental simulation of a Mars mission (a habitat built to replicate the conditions of Mars) in the Arizona desert. In a strange twist, during this experiment, the astronauts uncover dinosaur fossils. These images help me deepen into the felt sense of limbo as well as the tension between past/future.

You can find the original mood board–and more about Kate’s work–here.

Extended Play is a project of The Civilians. To learn more about The Civilians and to access exclusive discounts to shows, visit us and join our email list at TheCivilians.org.
