It’s always fascinating to be a small piece of an enormous work, such as This is Reading. For months, you hear bits and bobs about the grand scheme but focus only on your tiny piece. This past weekend, we saw it all come together at Franklin Street Station.
This episode concludes our “Occupy #S17” series, which features live recordings from a special cabaret the Civilians hosted at Joe’s Pub to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Occupy Wall Street. Mia Rovegno directed the evening, which drew from interviews conducted by Dan Domingues, among others. Highlighted here are monologues from actors Matt Dellapina and Jahi Kearse, as well as a full-cast performance of Neil Young’s “America,” led by musicians Marykate O’Neil and Jill Sobule.
